As veritable musical pioneers, Primus won instant appeal with their 1990 wedge of freak rock entitled “Frizzle Fry” and the group continued to be one of the most innovative and eclectic rock acts of the nineties, chalking up MTV hits with brilliant tunes and subsequently compelling video clips like “Jerry Was A Race Car Driver” and “Tommy The Cat.”

On this greatest hits collection, fans are treated to remastered versions of these and many more of the band’s best-loved tunes including the wonderfully percussive “John The Fisherman,” the spaghetti-noodle, bass-driven “My Name Is Mud,” and fan favorite “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver.” With the inclusion of “Mary The Ice Cube” being the only Primus track of the new millennium to be found here, it’s safe to say that the group was essentially a phenomenon of the nineties, at least in terms of creativity - but Primus still enjoys strong ticket sales today, with fans flocking from across the country to witness the group’s live act.

More than anything, it was the animated visual appeal of Primus that really brought their strange, witty tunes to life, but you’ll find no more impressive collection of great songs from this groundbreaking trio of San Francisco natives than this. “They Can’t All Be Zingers” is proof positive that to this very day, the music of Primus is still very cheesy and most certainly sucks, and that’s meant in the best way possible.
